Thanks to everyone who came by and checked out our book. Wondercon was a total success! Great to be up and close with so many awesome people.
Next stop: Silicon Valley Comic Con! So much a fun will be had. The Space Odditorium Record 006: Roast Beef in Space won a spot in the Finalists of the latest Ghost City Comics 5x5 Fest. Five pages in five days. Click on the image to read the all new Record for free.
ALL NEW RECORD! It’s space madness in the Tubeways. Major Trauma’s attempt to escape the manipulative clutches of the Full House Gang has lead her to the cell of Stowan prisoner and literary genius, William S. Burroughs. It’s absolute chaos with all roads leading to nowhere involving a Bozmanian laser grenade, mercenary bounty hunters, and an escape plan “B” for Bill Burroughs.
The first samples of The Space Odditorium Volume 001 have arrived! Click on the image to reserve your copy! Each year Ghost City Comics hosts a 5x5 Fest (create 5 pages of comics in 5 days) and this year we've entered. We were given "prompts" to include in our story like a ketchup & mustard bottle. How do you include a ketchup & mustard bottle in a science-fiction story...? Just you wait and find out!
Good news Space Oddballs! Volume 1 of The Space Odditorium is on it's way! Check back soon to preorder a copy.
Why? Because The Space Odditorium Volume 1, a collection of Records 001-005, has just gone to print. The books will be printed on heavy weight paper and perfect bound. They'll be available for the first time at this year's Silicon Valley Comic Con April 6-8, 2018. Soon all of you can give those computer screen eyes a break, sit back in your favorite bean bag chair, with a cup of cheap box wine and indulge in the visual ecstasy, ponder the profundity, and bathe in the immersive narrative experience that only The Space Odditorium can offer, in a graphic novel form.
Every writer has their inspirations, their list of authors that inspired them to write robust prose and beautiful poetry. My two inspirations come from the deviant mind of Alan Martin (writer of Tank Girl) and the drug-drenched cells of William S. Burroughs (author of Naked Lunch). Their fractured stories and fragmented sentences (often times making no sense whatsoever) leaves this writer with the inspiration to sit at a desk and put words on the page that eventually turn into scripts for The Space Odditorium. Often times writers sit down to write, but end up sitting and staring blankly at the computer screen, however the work of Martin & Burroughs provides me with hope. I've learned that it doesn't have to be perfect. My stories and sentences don't have to make sense. Golden coins on mountains of buttered balls. Nor here, not there. Time ends. These sentences make no sense, but in the senselessness there is meaning. Martin & Burroughs give us meaning in their senseless writing. |
